WCEA Social Media Policy
Board Document · Adopted July 15, 2026·Annual Review Required · Applies to All Participants and Program-Related Accounts
This policy governs how everyone connected to WCEA — students, parents, coaches, mentors, judges, sponsors, and the Program Director — uses social media in connection with the program. The Program Director manages and approves every official post, and personal accounts fall under this policy only when content is specifically about WCEA, uses its branding, or could reasonably be understood to represent the program. It sets firm rules on photo and video consent (especially for minors), a detailed list of prohibited content (harassment, false claims, unauthorized branding, copyright infringement, undisclosed sponsored content, AI-generated fake reviews), FTC-compliant disclosure requirements for any paid or gifted promotion, and a three-level violation process — from a documented warning up to removal from the program. Every participant acknowledges this policy as part of their enrollment, volunteer, mentor, or partner agreement before starting any program activity.
