Graduation isn't where this ends. It's where The Exchange begins.
The Exchange is the ongoing network for every Launch Lab and Academy graduate — the tier that turns one good year into a lifetime connection to Clark County.
Quick Facts
Automatic: On graduation from Launch Lab or the Academy
Free: Forever, like everything else we run
No Expiration: Membership never runs out
Annual: The Exchange Showcase
The third tier. The one that never ends.
Launch Lab gives you a first business. The Academy gives you a real one. The Exchange is what happens after — a standing network of every WCEA graduate, connected to each other and to the next generation coming up behind them.
There's no application. The moment you complete Launch Lab or the Academy, you're in. Permanently.
Four ways The Exchange stays useful
Connect
A standing directory of every graduate, from every cohort — not just a list, a network. The people who understand exactly what you went through are the people you're now permanently connected to.
Check-In
A quarterly, no-pressure touchpoint: is your business still running, what's changed, what do you need? Simple on purpose — and it's how we know, years from now, how many Clark County businesses this actually built.
Give Back
Come back as a coach for Launch Lab or a mentor for the Academy. You were on the other side of this not long ago. That makes your advice land differently than almost anyone else's could.
Access
As the network grows, connections to local accountants, insurance, legal help, and shared workspace through community partners — built around what graduates actually need, not guessed at in advance.
This isn't static. It grows with you.
Member: Automatic the day you graduate. Connected to the network, included in check-ins.
Contributor: You come back as a coach or mentor for the next cohort.
Partner: Years in, you might sponsor a session, back a newer graduate, or join the Founding Board yourself.
You don't apply for the next stage. You just keep showing up, and it happens.
An annual night for the businesses that lasted.
Pitch Night and Demo Day are about proving an idea can work. The Exchange Showcase is about proving it kept working — a yearly gathering for businesses that have survived a year or more past graduation.
It's part reunion, part proof of concept for the entire WCEA model: the community gets to see what these businesses look like once the cameras from Pitch Night have moved on.
It's also where real-world investors enter the picture. Unlike Pitch Night's or Demo Day's seed prize — money from WCEA — the Showcase is where graduates with a genuine track record pitch directly to investors in the room for actual outside capital. By this stage, a graduate isn't presenting an idea. They're presenting real revenue, real customers, and real numbers — and the opportunity to secure the kind of investment that helps a working business actually scale.
This is how Clark County keeps what it builds.
A graduate is worth something the day they pitch. They're worth a great deal more five years later, still running their business, training the next kid coming up behind them.
The Exchange is what makes that real instead of theoretical — and it's the reason WCEA can eventually say, with actual data, how many Clark County businesses this pipeline produced, and how many of our best young people it kept here.
Questions you might have
Do I have to sign up for The Exchange?
No. If you complete Launch Lab or the Academy, you're already in.
Does it cost anything?
No. Same as every WCEA program — free, permanently.
What if my business didn't survive?
You're still part of The Exchange. Coaches and mentors who've experienced a business not working out are some of the most valuable people in this network — that part is real too, not just the success stories.
Do I have to become a coach or mentor?
No, it's not required. But it's the most direct way to give back, and most graduates find it's also the most meaningful.
Is there real money available at the Showcase?
Yes — but it comes from outside investors, not from WCEA. WCEA creates the room and helps you build the track record that makes you investment-ready. What happens between you and an investor from there is between you and them.
Once you're a graduate, you're never just an alum.
You're part of the next cohort's coaches, the data behind our next grant, and the proof that Clark County can build a generation of entrepreneurs and keep them.
