WCEA Mentor Handbook

Program Document · Required Reading for Every Academy Mentor
This is the guide every Academy mentor works from for a full program year — the four-phase arc of the relationship, from a hands-off Phase 1 introduction through Phase 3's "be present at every session" intensity to coaching a Demo Day pitch in Phase 4, with a phase-by-phase script of the actual hard questions to ask a mentee. It draws the line on what mentoring is not: no money ever changes hands between mentor and mentee, no contact outside supervised Academy channels, no advice before you've asked and listened first. It closes with the honest version of commitment — better to commit to 60% and deliver it than promise 100% and disappear when a student needs you most.
